Property
- Luxury home immersed in a private tropical farm in Costa Rica
- Beautiful inspiring bedrooms with breathtaking gardens
- Spacious common areas, special for social events, friends and family
Location, nature and privacy. The ability to connect in a meditative way contemplating the forest; this is Casa Grama.
The experience of living in the area where the Tropical Dry Forest and the Humid Forest converge is given by the fact that the property is located in a specific climatological transition zone of the country, allowing a large part of Costa Rica's biodiversity to inhabit this place.
The sounds of the forest, its fauna and flora generating a symphony that sharpens the senses and calms the spirit. Can you imagine the silence of the night with the beginning of the rain, followed by the mist of dawn along with the passage of macaws and monkeys?
The original purpose of building this property has been to produce tranquility, an atmosphere for reflection and enjoyment of family life. The social area on the upper floor and its connection with the mountain is a clear example of this.
The main room and its terrace create a wonderful intimacy and the study room awakens a genuine tranquility to read and write. Undoubtedly, this home is for lovers of creativity and life.
During the day, the view of the green mountain is incorporated into the atmosphere of the upper level. These are the kitchen, the living room, the terrace and the study room. At night, the deck and the pool area of the first level are special places to enjoy the magic of nature.
The master responsible for this work is Arch. Carlos Umaña Yañez, of Mexican origin and a disciple of Arch. Ricardo Legorreta who was at the same time a disciple of Arch. Luis Barragán.
The property is conceived as a space to be respected due to its forest and anthropological origin, as well as a feeding space for the native fauna due to the two springs that emanate from the foot of the mountain. With this in mind, a building is designed that causes the least environmental impact, the textures and color of the lands are incorporated and a structure is proposed that provokes the visitor's curiosity about what the foreground of the facade hides while he/she is received by a fountain that breaks the silence and generates the desire to find out more.
