Finca Las Nubes is a fully functional organic farm high in the hills above San Juan del Sur, offering a much cooler climate than in the valley and coastal areas.  

These parcels are adjacent to San Juan del Sur day school, an international accredited K-12 school with full facilities centered on the farm and were created to provide families associated with the school a rich and secure place to raise their children, grow their own food and be self sufficient.

The entire farm is completely secure 24 hours a day. 

Each parcel has total privacy, excellent access with water and power, view of Lake Nicaragua and the volcanoes on Ometepe.  We also have off-grid solar systems available.

Prices start at USD $80,000 and lots are sized 12000 m2 and up. 

On the property you will find a school, skatepark, mini golf, forestry, carpentry shop, aquaponics, gardens, orchards and all aspects of a working farm. 

Finca Las Nubes is a privately owned and operated farm. We are most proud of our socially responsible model, organic methods, sustainable vision and our 40 local workers who have been with us for years and are like our family.

Finca Las Nubes is not a for-profit venture. Our goals are sustainability with resources to improve and grow the project. The people involved are devoted to helping others and forego making money in order to participate. We invest in developing sustainable living techniques mixed with modern lifestyle and the promotion thereof.

Our staff is 100% local. We only hire from within the local community and do not employ foreign workers. Each house was built by our construction crew that we trained on the farm. All of the roofs, doors, windows and wood furniture are made on the farm by our carpenter team who learned the trade here. The grounds, animals and infrastructure are maintained by our local farm employees. Houses are maintained by caretakers who also provide hospitality services to our guests with integrity and love.

Finca Las Nubes is a project based on participation without profit. The intent is to live a sustainable lifestyle in partnership with the local community and preserve nature for future generations. We believe that ownership is responsibility, not a right, and intend to be example stewards of the land. We are against development that deforests the land and displaces local people – we plant trees, grow food, hire and train local people and manage the environment using natural technologies. We think preservation and reforestation are a priority to creating an abundant future.

Our farm features hundreds of acres of indigenous forest which was enhanced by planting thousands of precious hardwood trees. The wildlife here is healthy and protected within it. We have orchards and created an organic vegetable garden to reduce our dependence on commercial processes – we try to imitate nature – our energy comes from the wind and sun and our food from the ground.

We have dozens of varieties of citrus, mango, avocado, cashew, banana, papaya and many other exotic local fruits as well as coffee and cocoa – all started from seed and cuttings here on the farm. There are chicken and turkey pens and a herd of cows and pelibuey. We also have bee hives for honey production and pollination as well as horses.
